Kangmin’s Confident Solo Stride: From Music to Acting

Following the release of his first solo single album and signaling an active run of promotions, additional pictorial cuts and an interview with Kangmin for the April issue of have been unveiled.

In the newly released pictorial, Kangmin showcased an even broader range of charms, pulling off a variety of concepts that mirror his multifaceted path across music and acting.

In the accompanying interview, Kangmin revealed how much he has grown as an artist by taking an active role throughout the album. Having participated directly not only in choosing the title track and B-sides but also in writing the lyrics, he shared his special attachment, saying, “Since this is my first solo album, I wanted to include as much of my own input as possible at every step of the process.” He added, “Because I had to handle on my own the parts I used to split with the members, I felt a huge sense of responsibility—but I was just as excited,” conveying his sincerity as a solo artist.

Alongside his music career, Kangmin has also thrown down the gauntlet in acting, showing new potential through the short-form drama . He said, “I kept talking with the director nonstop as we built out the details,” underscoring his serious approach to the project. He also shared an anecdote about receiving a PPT from the director after the release, filled with scene-by-scene feedback, adding, “It’s something you can’t do without real affection, so I was even more grateful,” warming hearts.

Meanwhile, Kangmin is also known as a passionate Liverpool FC fan. Expressing his affection for the team even amid a packed schedule, he said, “They may not be flashy, but I love the way they keep running to the very end and create plays,” adding, “That reminds me of my own attitude toward music.” He went on to say, “I think working hard is the greatest weapon,” sharing his candid personal values.
